ITALDESIGN-GIUGIARO is considered one of the best car design companies of the world and Mr. Giugiaro was awarded in 1999 as car designer of the century. GIUGIARO DESIGN, a division apart from car design, exists from 1981 dedicated to transport, product and graphic design. For the last 25 years, GIUGIARO DESIGN has been designing transport (trains, aircrafts, buses, motorcycles and boats), industrial products and graphic and corporate design, having received more than 50 international design awards.

Its success and experience has taken GIUGIARO to be chosen to design the most important products for brands such as Apple, Sony, Sanyo, Keenwood, Nikon, Swatch, Siemens, Merloni, Candy, Indesit, Omega or Seiko. In this design for ECLER, GIUGIARO DESIGN looked for a harmony between the renown design of ECLER and an innovative design according to the revolutionary EVO series. The design respects the ergonomics and functionality defined by the most prestigious DJs consulted by ECLER, and the maximum compatibility with the industrial processes of the Catalan factory.

The multifunction screen had to be the most emphasized element of this new mixer and the challenge was to integrate it between the traditional faders and controls, not breaking the aesthetics of the habitual professional design of ECLER. The control knobs of the screen functions were minimized and some of them were integrated as part of the screen frame. This gave more homogeneity and, together with an excellent quality material, minimized the possibility of the mixer looking as a gadget or toy.The job for the graphic design of the screen contents was specially intense. It has to be innovative but at the same time intuitive and easy to read. It had to feature a clear interaction with the screen controls and a graphic design according to the global cosmetics of the mixer.

The EVO5 professional DJ mixer is now a reality and GIUGIARO DESIGN ads to its extensive list of designed products its first professional mixer, with the hope that it becomes another success history and the beginning of a long relationship with the world of professional audio.
