iO4 Portable 4-Channel 24-bit USB Audio Interface

The Alesis iO4 offers 4 channels of premium audio in a compact and portable interface. Powered by USB it is class compliant and plug and play with both Mac and PC. You can record and monitor four channels in 16-bit mode and two in 24-bit. Although it is lightweight and can fit most laptop and equipment bags, the iO4 is composed of studio quality components.

Each of the 4 input channels have XLR microphone connection, 1/4" TRS jack for external FX units and a 1/4" TS for line level sources such as direct guitar connections. The preamps are discreet and there is 48v phantom power available for mics that needs a bit of juice.

A second set of reference monitors can be wired up for A/B comparisons or a second room and signals can be routed to an external effects unit. Remote tracking and alternative playback is done via the 1/4" TRS headphone out.

The secret to the pro sound on the iO4 is the A/D D/A (analogue to digital and digital to analogue) converters which give you an accurate representation of recording and playback. There are MIDI in and out connections to control software, keyboards or any other MIDI compatible instruments. The iO4 sends and receives 8 audio channels via the single USB cable and will work with Mac OSX Windows XP, Vista and 7.

Steinberg Cubase LE DAW is included in the package giving you access to one of the world`s top sequencers and the ability to record, edit and mix from the box. The iO4 is also compatible with pretty much all audio and MIDI software. It is an ideal choice for musicicans and producers looking for a compact interface with more than a few inputs.
