What is 'You Sell'?

We have developed a new and exciting platform on which you can sell your digital media on your own terms, with clear financial rewards.

• You upload your digital media to our servers through our easy to use seller account interface.
• Customers purchase and download it through our online store or through your own customisable homepage.
• You get paid

Get PAID (as much as 87% of the sale price)
We aim to pay the maximum amount of revenue possible to all sellers. All we take is an 8% (10p minimum) handling fee from your sale price, to cover bandwidth charges / administration, etc. Bank charges for credit card processing and music publishing royalties (if appropriate) are deducted separately.

Accounts with the sellers are settled on a monthly basis, within 30 days of the end of the month and can be paid in Sterling via PayPal (Worldwide and UK subject to a £1 transaction fee) or cheque (UK only subject to a £1.50 transaction and postage fee).

Open to everyone
Anyone can set up a 'You Sell' account, whether you are an up and coming producer, an established label or a distributor.

Complete Control
As the seller, you have complete freedom to upload your own media 24 hours, 7 days a week, set and edit your own pricing, enter or change your own track information and (subject to English copyright law) add or remove whatever content you wish.

Mini Site
When your account is active, you will receive a unique URL for your mini-site (eg. http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/store/YourLabel). You will be able to customize this space yourself. Your downloads will be available for sale on your mini-site.

Your content in the Chemical catalog
All of your tracks will also appear for sale in the extensive Chemical Records online catalogue.

Cheaper and Easier than setting up an E-Commerce site
No development costs
No online merchant set-up or rental fees
No server, hosting or bandwidth costs
Everything is hosted by Chemical (UK) Ltd. as part of the 8% handling fee. Where relevant we also take care of all MCPS/PRS reporting and settlement on your behalf.

Multi file platform
When you upload a file, our servers will automatically create preview clips in order for potential customers to preview a low quality, shortened section of the the file before they buy. You can choose to convert and sell your audio files into different formats such as 320kbps MP3, WAV or FLAC (lossless compression). This can be done online using our conversion servers. In the near future this will include various video formats and other types of digital media.

No subscription fees
There are no subscription fees for the service. There is a one-off registration fee of £5 (per label) to cover administration. But don't panic! We will not be asking for your credit card number at any point, this amount will be deducted from your future sales.

Data Backup and Reliable System Architecture
All data you upload is backed up on a daily basis. All servers are run on reliable hardware with multiple redundancy, in a secure data centre with high availability bandwidth.
